PROBLEM

Websites that fail to bring in patients have three causes

ISSUE 01

1. Information is not being communicated accurately

Consultation hours, days closed, vaccine doses and costs, and what to bring to a first appointment: patients check these before visiting. Yet information shown on a website can differ from the information approved by the clinic.

At Sunrise Sachi Clinic, it was discovered that the number and cost of vaccine doses differed from the source data. 1F8 completed the correction approximately five hours after receiving the request. Accurate information directly affects patient trust. If outdated information remains online, patients who visit may say, “That is not what the website said.”

ISSUE 02

2. The information exists, but patients cannot reach it

Two-thirds of the screen cannot be scrolled on a smartphone. Tapping a treatment link does not open the correct page. Even when patients think, “I should consult this clinic,” they cannot reach the information they need.

Even a polished-looking website can conceal technical problems that prevent patients from taking action. This exact problem occurred immediately before Sunrise Sachi Clinic opened. Multiple issues were identified, including an inability to scroll the page on mobile and treatment links that did not work correctly. Had these been left unresolved before opening, patients would have left the site and either called the clinic or looked for another one.

ISSUE 03

3. You want to change it, but cannot

Even when a clinic must close at short notice, it takes time for the change to appear on the website. You contact the person responsible but do not receive a reply for days. Staff then have to say, “We are closed today,” over and over on the phone.

The director of Sunrise Sachi Clinic was concerned about precisely this delay and asked 1F8 to improve the situation. The closure calendar for the following day was published approximately 78 minutes after the request. Vaccine information was also corrected approximately five hours after the request. Information that needs changing can be changed immediately. That is the essence of website operations.

INFORMATION

Patients may find you on portals—but are you losing them on your official website?

A patient speaking with a clinician
Patient–clinician communication (illustrative image)

Patients find clinics through many channels, including Google Maps and MEO, EPARK, Byoin Navi, Caloo, Doctor Cube, and Medical Revolution. But when they then reach the official website, they will choose another clinic if the information is outdated, the booking method is unclear, or the available care is not explained.

Rather than replacing these existing channels, 1F8 integrates them with the official website and makes them more effective. We reliably convert the interest of patients who find you through portals or maps into bookings and inquiries on your official website. That is 1F8’s role within Japan’s clinic patient-acquisition ecosystem.

SYSTEM

Four paths to a clinic visit, built by 1F8

PATH 01

Get found

We optimize pages for the local area and services offered, guiding patients from search and Google Maps to the official website. We clearly communicate treatments, location, physicians, and booking methods, creating an information architecture that is less likely to be misunderstood by either search engines or AI search.

By organizing the search intent for each page and improving titles, headings, and internal links, we create a foundation that is easier to discover through both conventional search and AI search (AIO/LLMO). Murakami Clinic has achieved an average position of 1.0 for searches for “Murakami Clinic” in Fuchu and also ranks highly for searches related to nephrology.

PATH 02

Understand

We present treatments, first-visit information, costs, access, and booking methods in the order patients are most likely to look for them before visiting. We improve the writing structure, headings, and internal links that convey the clinic’s strengths, and design pathways that help patients reach the information they need.

We create an information architecture that is easy to read on smartphones and makes the next step clear. At Sunrise Sachi Clinic, the home-visit care, health checkup, orthopedics, and general internal medicine pages each function as routes from search to a clinic visit.

PATH 03

Book

We clearly position entry points for telephone, online booking, LINE, and inquiries so patients know exactly what to do next. We implement smartphone-friendly button placement, click-to-call, and pathways to booking pages, reducing barriers to a visit.

We design clear calls to action that make patients feel ready to book with the clinic. This prevents abandonment caused by patients not knowing how to book or being unable to find the booking page.

PATH 04

Resolve simple questions online

For simple questions about matters such as consultation hours and access, the AI chatbot answers using information approved by the clinic. One chatbot interaction eliminates the need for one phone call.

Chat usage has accumulated at the sites we operate, and clinic directors report that reception calls have decreased. Email-based usage records have reached approximately 900–1,300 interactions, demonstrating how often patients resolve questions themselves online. At Murakami Clinic, questions about payment methods (cash only) can now be resolved through chat, reducing confirmation calls to reception.

INFORMATION

Speed backed by an AI-agent-plus-human operating model

Specialist AI agents handle site monitoring, routine updates, checks of page display and links, consistency between FAQs and chatbot information, and reviews of search data. Human developers handle decisions about structure and wording, complex corrections, and matters involving security or personal information.

Our process does not leave requests waiting until the person responsible is available. An agent starts work immediately and escalates only the matters that require human involvement, enabling us to aim for an initial response within one hour. The clinic does not need to learn a content management interface. Email is the CMS.

This model allows unlimited standard updates. We accept requests 24 hours a day; an agent reviews the details, carries out authorized standard updates, and routes matters requiring judgment to a human. This does not mean a person is standing by at all times. It combines a system in which agents can act immediately with a framework in which humans make responsible decisions.

INFORMATION

Clinic-led publishing with medical advertising compliance in mind

For wording related to medical advertising—including treatments, physician information, costs, and before-and-after photographs—the clinic makes the final decision, and 1F8 publishes it after checking the wording for legal compliance. We appropriately reflect disclaimers and the requirements for lifting advertising restrictions under the Medical Advertising Guidelines and the Medical Care Act. This service does not constitute legal advice. When an individual legal determination is required, we may ask you to consult a qualified professional.

Case Studies

Murakami Clinic
RESULTS

Murakami Clinic

Challenge | Local trust was not coming across online. Murakami Clinic in Fuchu, Tokyo, has served its community for more than 40 years. Updates to its old website had stopped, leaving its services and character poorly represented online. We reviewed smartphone readability, routes from search to treatment pages, and the process for keeping the site current after launch.

Work | Organize services and the information patients need before a visit. We restructured information on internal medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, nephrology and dialysis, alongside staff, facilities, and access. The renewal combined smartphone-friendly presentation with SEO foundations such as page structure, headings, and internal links, helping patients reach the information they need.

Ongoing support | Keep the website in step with the clinic. We continue to manage service information, news, SEO, and the AI chatbot. From 2021 through 2026, we recorded more than 671 continuous improvements and updates. When a patient asked the chatbot about payment methods, we added an accurate “cash only” answer with the clinic’s approval—using real questions to improve patient guidance.

Result | A 500% increase in new patients after renewal. The clinic and 1F8 attribute this increase to the website renewal. This is Murakami Clinic’s individual result; outcomes vary by location, services, competition, and other factors. Similar results are not guaranteed.

Services: Website renewal / Patient information / SEO / Ongoing updates / AI chatbot
Result: 500% increase in new patients (from a baseline of 100 before improvement to 600 afterward)
Search Performance: Average position of 1.0 for “Murakami Clinic” searches in the Fuchu area; 4,400+ clicks per year

Sunrise Sachi Clinic

Challenge | Clear patient guidance from opening day. A new clinic needs its services, location, consultation hours, and booking methods ready together. For Sunrise Sachi Clinic, we prepared not only the launch website but also an ongoing process for updating information as the clinic’s needs change.

Work | Connect service information with online booking. We organized information around internal medicine and home-visit care, including orthopedics, rehabilitation, and infectious disease consultations. We added access information from Hankyu Ibaraki-shi Station and online booking entry points on key pages. Actual production and response work took less than one week, excluding time awaiting the clinic’s review and replies.

Before opening | Fix mobile issues and patient guidance. We quickly addressed a smartphone issue that prevented scrolling across two-thirds of the screen, along with malfunctioning treatment links. We also added necessary patient information and corrected access details in preparation for opening. The work addressed not just appearance, but whether patients could reach the information they needed.

Ongoing support | One contact for vaccines, closures, and recruitment. Since opening, we have continued to update service information, seasonal information, and news. A vaccine information correction was completed approximately five hours after the request; a closure calendar was published in approximately 78 minutes. Staff simply send 1F8 the facts they want changed without operating a content management interface. The clinic retains the final decision on what is published.

INFORMATION

Even after cancellation, the assets remain with the clinic

The domain is registered in the name of the clinic or its corporate entity. Ownership of the website content, images, files, and data belongs to the clinic both during the contract and after cancellation. On cancellation, the clinic retains all of the web assets accumulated to that point.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we keep our current website?

Yes. 1F8’s standard policy is not to rebuild an existing website completely, but to prioritize improvements to the parts that need them. After the assessment, we will advise whether improvement or a rebuild is more suitable, but if the existing foundation can be used, improvement is our first recommendation. We decide carefully to avoid wasting the value of existing assets and URLs. Murakami Clinic also retained its existing clinical information while improving the patient journey and information architecture.

Are updates really unlimited?

Yes. Standard changes to a website under our management—including news, consultation hours, staff, images, links, and FAQs—are unlimited. We can also handle large-scale redesigns and new features without additional charges where technically feasible. However, because many issues can be resolved through continuous improvement, we may recommend a planned rebuild. Before starting any special requirement that involves a charge, we will explain its scope.

Does the AI chatbot answer medical questions?

No. It is limited to approved guidance such as consultation hours, access, and booking methods. It does not answer questions about symptoms, diagnoses, treatment, urgency, test results, or individual medical concerns. Questions requiring judgment are directed to staff or the appropriate point of contact.

How is this different from other companies’ ¥30,000–¥50,000 monthly plans?

Many subscription-based production companies limit page counts or the scope of support, or treat SEO and chatbot operations as separate services. 1F8 provides website production and improvement, an SEO foundation, unlimited update operations, management of an AI chatbot based on approved information, and monthly reporting as a single system. There is no need to manage multiple vendors.

Compare the difference in value, not simply price. This is not merely “outsourced website management,” but an operating system that continuously improves the entire journey—from patients finding and understanding your clinic through to booking or making an inquiry—even after launch. It includes reducing telephone inquiries, correcting outdated information, aligning search and Google Maps information, and managing chatbot answers.

Can we request SEO alone or the chatbot alone?

Under our core service, these are integrated with the website, patient information, booking pathways, and updates. This is because we take responsibility for creating a state that leads to visits. Individual consultations are possible, but we recommend the comprehensive operating system.

Can you really respond within one hour?

Yes. Specialist AI agents accept requests 24 hours a day, review the details, and immediately carry out authorized standard updates. Matters requiring judgment are escalated to a human. This does not mean a person is standing by at all times; it combines a system in which agents can act immediately with a framework in which humans make responsible decisions. At Sunrise Sachi Clinic, we corrected vaccine information in approximately five hours and handled a closure calendar in approximately 78 minutes.
